The Seminar, hold in cooperation with the SMB-Gemäldegalerie, will take a closer look to painting in Norther Italy in the second half of the 15th century through the Gemäldegalerie collections. Focusing on the two main artistic centers of Padua and Venice, it will address the changes in style and painting technique, considering examples from different formats and sizes – from small portraits to large narrative painting and altarpieces. Recent restorations and exhibitions at the Gemäldegalerie (Mantegna&Bellini, Tribute to Vittore Carpaccio) offer the opportunity to reconsider those artworks in a new light.
As the seminar will take place at the Gemäldegalerie, the number of participants is limited to 20.
