Introduction to X-ray sources, including synchrotron and X-ray free electron lasers; fundamental concepts explained through multiple examples of the following methodologies applied to fuel cell, electrolyser and batterie electrodes, with particular focus to operando conditions: Photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, X-ray emission spectroscopy and inelastic X-ray scattering, wide and small angle X-ray scattering, X-ray imaging and computed tomography.
