In this seminar, we will cover wide topics related to the mathematical study of waves, both from the theoretical and the numerical point of views. The following topics are suggested, but you can also choose other relevant topics if you want.
- Wave equation (general topic about waves)
- Time-harmonic acoustic/electromagnetic waves
- Water waves
- Variational methods for PDEs
- Integral equation methods
- Finite element methods
- Numerical methods for time-dependent PDEs
- ...
If you are interested in attending the seminar, please register (zhang@math.tu-berlin.de) before March 15th, 2025. We will have the first meeting at the beginning of the summer semester, and then arrange the talks depending on the number of attendees.
According to the rule of the TU Berlin, the credit from the seminar will come from two parts: 50% from the presentation and 50% from a Seminararbeit on related topics.
