Narratives of Architectural Atmosphere
The conceptualization of atmosphere as an emerging phenomenon in architecture is commonly discussed as created between a perceptive capacity of humans and an effective environment. Theoretical reflections deal with the anatomy of perceptual engagement where the physical and sensory characteristics of space together with philosophical, political, ethical, and aesthetic dimensions of the cultural narrative are built into complex assemblages. The ambiguous character of the phenomenon resonates in such multidimensional conditionality to produce content of architectural ambiance. Throughout history, different socio-political contexts operationalized architecture to transmit narratives through the structure of ambient characters. The ambition of the course is to understand and utilize these organizational strategies and to engage them in the design process.
