The Städtebauliche Vertiefung related to the “Adlershof Soil Futures” Design Studio will give students the opportunity to interact with stakeholders, research partners and local actors in the frame of a real-case project for the soil-based and climate-oriented urban regeneration of Adlershof in Berlin, one of the largest science and technology park in Germany, currently facing various issues of sustainability.

Through various writing and editing assignments, the students will gradually familiarize themselves with the basic concepts and tools for citizen science. They will engage in preliminary interactions and experiments with local actors, then elaborate protocols for longer-term monitoring and participative urban regeneration processes. Finally, they will define methodological, actors- and implementation-oriented contributions to a prospective atlas of urban regeneration in Adlershof, to be integrated in a policy advising report for Adlershof´s stakeholders (Wista).
