The module shows how signals and systems can be described mathematically, how different signal components can be filtered out and how appropriate filters can be designed and implemented. This is necessary in many technical systems, especially when, for example, measurement signals has to be processed.
After the module, the students:
- Can examine systems for their properties such as linearity, time invariance, stability and causality
- Can describe systems in different ways and convert these descriptions into each other
- Master the principles of sampling and reconstruction of signals
- Can design and implement suitable analog and digital filters to solve signal processing tasks

The module conveys:
30% knowledge and understanding, 40% analysis and methodology, 30% development and design.
