This course aims at introducing students to some of the major political question
which tears apart Israeli society and to a large extent also the
Palestinian one. The class will focus on series of debates which paved the
complex history of the State of Israel and Palestine from the days of Herzl to
our contemporary interrogations. While being focused on Israeli intellectual
history, the course will also shed light on the
major moments in the history of Zionism, later the State of Israel, and the
Middle East.
It will be taught in a workshop-like setting on 30 June and 7 July, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the ZfA-seminar room.
