The seminar adresses the basics of
technology ethics and technology assessment. The focus is on positions and key aspects
of the ethical debates on robotics, artificial intelligence and automation and
the critical discussion and argumentation on the basis of theoretical texts.
Other topics are responsible technology design (e.g. scenario analysis, value
assessment, critical design thinking) in practice-oriented and
interdisciplinary teamwork. The seminar also asks about possibilities of
ethical accompaniment / intervention in technology development. In small
project groups, the participants analyze ethical and social aspects on
self-selected case studies and evaluate them with regard to possible
ethical-social consequences. The aim is, in addition to critical reflection, a
well-founded development of proposals for responsible technology futures and
design.
