This 2-week block course (02.03.2026-13.03.2026) on Reproductive Biology and Reproductive Biotechnologies takes place at the Leibniz-Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Friedrichsfelde and combines lectures with hands-on lab training. In the lectures, we present the basics of reproductive biology and endocrinology, as well as current reproductive biotechnologies with their application in reproductive medicine, animal breeding, and wildlife conservation. In the lab, you will conduct non-invasive hormone monitoring, sperm assessment, and cryopreservation, and get demonstrations of techniques like in vitro fertilization and micromanipulation. We will round out the course with joint discussions on future perspectives and legal and ethical aspects of reproductive biotechnologies.
