AUSTERICITY ATHENS
URBAN DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL MOBILISATION AND BOTTOM-UP PRACTICE IN TIMES OF PERMANENT CRISIS
In a joint initiative of the departments of Planning Theory and Analysis of Urban and Regional Policies (Nils Grube) and Urban and Regional Economics (Dr. Dimitris Pettas), the five-day excursion to Athens (16.05.-20.05.22) will focus on the effects of austerity policies in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis and the resulting conditions for urban planning and urban coexistence in the Greek capital.
AUSTERICITY ATHENS is offered as an additional excursion and is primarily aimed at students who are currently in the 5th or 7th semester of their Bachelor's degree (or 1st semester of their Master's degree, if they completed their Bachelor's degree at ISR directly beforehand) and who were unable to experience excursions in the past study projects in the summer semesters of 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of their excursions.
Registration is now open on this course, deadline is 1 March 2022
